Inaugural Young Researchers Conference June 21, 2011

On Friday 29 July we will be holding the first inaugural young researchers conference. Young researchers will be given the opportunity to present their research to the broader ANSTO community and potentially walk away with a prize.
Title submissions are now open to anyone willing to take the challenge.

Please email the title of your talk to either Catriona or Aimee.

You are invited to a talk by Professor Steve Meikle from the Brain and Mind Research Institute, University of Sydney on research done in his institute. Steve is head of the imaging physics laboratory and will give an overview of the research done by the medical imaging physics and biomodelling team.

Details are as follows:

Time: 3 pm
Locations: Huxlin Training Room, Library.

Discovery Early Career Researcher Award Funding Rules March 11, 2011

This is a new initiative from the ARC.

The Discovery Early Career Researcher Award Funding Rules for funding commencing in 2012 are now available on the ARC website

The closing date for submission of Proposals is 5:00pm (AEST), Wednesday 18 May 2011.

The ARC will provide further notification when the scheme opens and the RMS Proposal Form and other relevant documentation become available.

We will be hosting a lunchtime Q&A session with the research office on 16 March at 12 in the Huxlin training room. Please come along to find out more about this fellowship and how to apply.

Let us know if you would be interested in joining us for a speed research meeting, which works on the same principles as speed dating but with the aim of creating collaborations of a research nature. The tentative date for the first speed meeting is the afternoon of the 17 Feb.

Hopefully you saw the invitation, but there is a BBQ on the 15th of December, 4.30 at the ANSTO pool/BBQ area, and then we might go to the pub!!

ANSTO Young Researchers Group CHRISTMAS BBQ!

Come, eat, have a chat, maybe a swim, then later, chat and a drink!

The plan: BBQ beside the pool, with your friendly chefs, Aimee and Catriona THEN come and have a drinky with us…

Where: ANSTO pool/BBQ area THEN afterwards a pub – tbc on the day (cos we can’t have beer at ANSTO)
